Linear guidance through the shelves

When a list is created, the WMS calculates the warehouse worker's shortest route based on the layout of the bin locations. The operator does not walk back and does not wander between shelves. A linear, one-way route guides them, which cuts the meters walked by more than 40%.

Grouping into waves (Batch Picking)

Instead of picking individual orders, the operator collects goods for several orders at once in a single pass through the warehouse. On the scanner they see the exact instruction for which item to scan and into which numbered tote on the cart to place it.

Matched ordering (Sort Algo)

In the WMS settings you can configure the sorting logic (e.g. by order ID). This means that the order of totes on the scanner is exactly the same as the order of the printed courier labels. When the warehouse worker brings the cart to the packing station, the items go directly into the prepared boxes without searching or rearranging.

What is the difference between traditional goods picking and the system in Fulfillment App?

Classic paper printouts
  • Long routes: Picking individual orders one by one causes a huge amount of unnecessary walking back and forth through the same warehouse aisles.
  • Selection errors: The warehouse worker relies on sight and memory, which leads to wrongly picked items or wrong quantities.
  • Sorting chaos: After a pile of goods has been picked, you have to manually figure out which item belongs to which order and label.
  • No traceability: The warehouse manager has no real overview of where the operators are and how much work has actually been done.

  • Batch picking: Grouping several orders into a single optimized pass through the warehouse. The warehouse worker takes only the steps that are strictly necessary.
  • Barcode scanning: The operator must scan the barcode of the location and the item. The system warns with sound and visuals on every error.
  • Alignment with Sort Algo: The order of trays on the scanner follows the order of the courier labels. Picked goods are immediately ready for packing.
  • Live statistics: The warehouse manager sees the status of all lists (draft, active, completed) and the productivity of each picker.

How the process works, from printing labels to the final picking on mobile scanners.

1. Starting a list when labels are printed

In the admin area you select webshop orders and print the courier labels. When printing, the system automatically creates a new picking list. If the list is marked for sending to the warehouse, it appears immediately on the operators' scanners.

2. Selecting a starting location on the scanner

The warehouse worker opens the list on a mobile Android scanner. They select their starting location in the warehouse from which they want to begin picking goods. The system calculates the shortest route from that point onward.

3. Guided scanning of locations and items

The scanner guides the operator from location to location. The operator first scans the location (the barcode on the shelf) and then the item. This way the system ensures that the goods are taken from the correct location and that it is the right SKU. On every wrong code the scanner beeps and reports an error.

4. Sorting into totes by label order

During batch picking the operator places items into the corresponding trays or totes on the cart. Because the order of totes on the scanner (Sort Algo) matches the order of the printed labels on the packing table, the entire picking wave is completed without any need for later rearranging or searching for parcels.

Answers to the key questions about configuring and using the system day to day.

DRAFT: The list is created in the office but is not yet visible to the warehouse worker on the scanner. The manager can freely add new picking jobs to it as new labels are printed.
ACTIVE: The list appears in the mobile app. The warehouse worker can open it and start working.
COMPLETED: The warehouse worker has scanned all items on the list and confirmed completion. The list is removed from the scanner.
You set the sorting logic in the administrator account under Client settings -> Additional settings -> Order Management. As a sorting criterion you can choose, for example, order ID or import time, ensuring that the label printouts fully match the workflow on the scanner.
The warehouse mobile app runs on all modern devices with the Android operating system. Supported industrial devices include Zebra (e.g. TC21/TC26), Honeywell, and also regular smartphones in combination with bluetooth barcode scanners.
If the warehouse worker runs into a problem (e.g. missing stock), that order is marked as a problem. The WMS automatically isolates it and moves it to the "Problems" tab in the dashboard, so that the packing line for the other orders does not stop.
