The algorithm picks the location, the operator just follows

When a picking list is created, the algorithm adds up the SKUs, selects the bin location with the most stock and guides the warehouse operator along the shortest route. The operator does not search and does not decide, but follows the instructions on the scanner, confirming the location and the item with a scan.

FIFO & FEFO
First Expired, First Out: items with an expiry date are removed by expiry date. Ideal for cosmetics, food supplements and groceries.

For every company in your fulfillment you choose the stock removal method. Standard FIFO removes the oldest stock first, while FIFO & FEFO, for items with an expiry date, always dispatches those expiring sooner first. Items without a date are also removed by FIFO in FEFO mode.

Lot numbers, expiry dates and serial numbers

Every item is tracked in the warehouse with a code, EAN barcode, name, bin location and, where relevant, a lot number, expiry date and serial numbers. At any moment you know which batch is on which shelf, and traceability is guaranteed from goods receipt to dispatch.

How stock gets its bin locations

From the initial import to everyday work, without stopping the warehouse.

1. Bulk import of items and stock

Import the initial state with an Excel template: items, quantities and a Bin location column. Optionally add lot numbers, expiry dates and serial numbers. Run the import under Imports → Items.

2. Choosing the warehouse method

For each client you choose the FIFO or FIFO & FEFO method in the integration settings. The setting applies to all further stock removal for that company.

3. Locations fill up with every goods receipt

At goods receipt the warehouse worker scans the item and enters the location where it is being placed. The stock at the bin location is visible in the system at that very moment, with no later entry in the office.

4. Picking along the shortest route

For every picking list the algorithm selects the optimal locations and guides the operator along the shortest route. Scanning the location and the item confirms each pick, and stock is removed by the selected method.

Frequently asked questions

Everything about bin locations and stock

Physical stock is the actual quantity of goods in the warehouse. Reserved are items on orders that the client has already placed and that will come into the fulfillment system. Available stock tells you how many items will remain available once all orders that include this item have been dispatched.
FIFO & FEFO makes sense when the client sells items with an expiry date: cosmetics, food supplements, groceries. For these items the system always removes the lot with the nearest expiry first, while items without an expiry date are still removed by standard FIFO.
Yes. Stock of the same item can be kept at several locations, separated by lot and expiry date. During picking the algorithm selects the location based on stock, route and the chosen stock removal method.
With an Excel template in which the required fields are marked, and the location is set in the Bin location column. You run the import directly in Fulfillment App under Imports → Items. If quantities are not yet known, you can import only the items and complete the stock later with a new import.
